 Head Coach - Steve Lukco

Steve Lukco saw the success Warren swimming programs had during the 1980s. He wants to bring that winning tradition back to the area. Lukco has his opportunity as he was  hired as Warren G. Harding High School's new boys and girls swimming and diving coach, as well as Director of Pools.

He was a two-time state qualifier and district champion in 1985 at Warren Western Reserve. Lukco remains the 100-yard butterfly record holder at Harding. The record was set at Reserve, but was transferred to Harding after the merger in 1990.

"I'm excited. I can't wait to get everything started this season," he said. "We're looking forward to rebuilding the program. The swim program was one of the better ones in the state. We're looking to get back to that level."

He was employed by Delphi Packard Electric for 18 years, but served as assistant swim coaches at both Harding and Warren Western Reserve High School and at the Warren YMCA.

He's also pursuing his Bachelor of Science degree in technology education from Kent State University. "It's a little difficult," Lukco said. "It puts some strains on my time. "Luckily my wife (Lori) has been very, very supportive. I can't pay her enough compliments."

 Diving Coach - Craig Charnas

Joining Head Coach Lukco as this years Diving Coach is former WGH Swim and Diving Coach, Craig Charnas.  He was the Diving Coach for the Raiders in 1983 & 1984 before moving up to Head Swim Coach from 1985 thru 1990. He returned again to Harding in 2000 to be the Head Swim Coach until 2003.

Craig has been teaching for 24 years and is currently teaching at Harding. He and his wife Nancy have six children.

 Assistant Coach - David Rock

Coach Rock is a lifelong resident of Warren, attending W.G.H from 1980 thru 1984. He was a four year letter earner for the “Panthers” as well as qualifying for districts all four years.

After high school, Coach Rock attended Fairmont State University where he earned two varsity swimming letters before transferring to Kent State and lettering there in the schools final year of fielding a swim team.

He has worked for Delphi Packard for the last twenty years as an electrician, and has three children. Coach Rock is currently assisting Coach Lukco on the Middle School Swim Team as well as on the High School Team. He is a valued member of both coaching staffs.
